”DDOR NOVI SAD”, OUR FAITHFUL COMPANION, POINTS OUT WHAT WE NEED FOR A RELAXING VACATION ABROAD
Health Insurance for the Whole World
Visas are cancelled, distances are closer, the roads are waiting. However, the red passport, hotel vouchers and travel tickets are not the only documents which will provide a relaxing vacation. Serbian compulsory health insurance is still not valid in many countries. So, if you do not wish to take your chances and bear all the costs of unexpected medical treatment or medical interventions, the right solution is DDOR’s policy of travel health insurance with assistance. What exactly do you get with it and how does it function?
Even though vacationing abroad should be a pleasant experience, sometimes minor problems, such as toothache, or stepping on a sea urchin, can spoil the fun. The policy of travel health insurance with assistance while staying abroad can help tourists overcome such misfortunes, and even more serious ones.
Domestic visitors at the upcoming tourism fair in Belgrade will have a chance to see the largest offer of tourist destinations from all over the world. The cancellation of Schengen visas has made traveling easier, thus numerous Serbian tourists will flock to warm Mediterranean beaches or for a visit to European capitals this summer. However, the red passport, hotel vouchers and travel tickets are not the only documents which will provide a relaxing vacation. Our compulsory health insurance is still not valid in many countries, so if you do not wish to take your chances and bear all the costs of unexpected medical treatments or medical interventions, the ”DDOR Novi Sad” policy of travel health insurance with assistance, is the solution. Despite the fact that this policy is not compulsory, tourist agencies and carriers recommend it since it provides security and covers expenses of up to EUR 30,000 in the event of a traveler unexpectedly falling ill or being involved in an accident (including the insured’s death) while abroad. In the event that the insured needs medial assistance, the policy will provide him with a wide array of medical services, such as emergency aid after an accident, outpatient and hospital treatment, unavoidable surgery due to acute illnesses, and even an urgent visit to the dentist. A part of the service is the organization of repatriation of the insured, due to the occurrence of an insured event, if previously approved by ”DDOR Novi Sad”.
HOW THE POLICY FUNCTIONS
If the insured is involved in an accident, he/she is obliged to immediately contact the on-duty center of the competent assistant company in Ljubljana, by dialing the number printed on the policy or other document enclosed with the policy. The insured should state the data from the policy, the reason for calling, and act in accordance with the instructions received from the operator. If, due to his/her medial condition, the insured is not able to immediately contact the center of the assistant company (e.g. he/she is unconscious), he/she is obliged to do so after receiving first aid, i.e. when his/her medical condition allows. This obligation may be fulfilled by another person (family member, chaperone, tour guide, etc.), on behalf of the insured. If the undertaken action is in accordance with instructions, the medical treatment costs and other costs stipulated by the terms and conditions for concluding insurance shall be paid by the assistant company, in the name and on behalf of the Insurer. Costs of outpatient treatment and medication, possibly paid by the insured himself/herself, may be refunded upon return to his/her country. The insured is obliged to submit the request for reimbursement of costs within a month from the day of completion of treatment or return to the country. In the event of the insured’s death, the insurance beneficiary shall submit the request upon repatriation of mortal remains, i.e. the funeral of the insured.
In addition to the necessary medical assistance, upon calling the competent assistant company in Ljubljana, the DDOR policy provides complete travel assistance to insureds (in the event of loss or delay of luggage, theft or loss of documents, i.e. accident while traveling, etc.), and legal assistance (in the event of an accident during the insured’s travel and stay outside the country of residence).
